Hello all,
we want to upgrade from 32Bit to an 64Bit-x86 MAXDB-Version.
What's the best way to do this?
Actually we run 7.5.0.28 on RHEL3.
My thought is now to
1. Down SAP and MAXDB
2. Update RHEL3-32Bit to RHEL4-64Bit
3. Update Maxdb 7.5.0.28 32Bit to 7.5.x 64Bit with SDBUPD. Is this even possible?
4. Update SAP-Kernel
Is this a corect way or do we need to install a complete new SAP and then do a recover?
Bye
Andreas
Hi Andreas,
that would not be a standard way of upgrading when switching both OS- and DB-version.
DB-side recommendation:
I would suggest following note 129352 (i.e. backup-recovery strategy). Ofcourse you know that you will have to test this on a Test-system before upgrading your Prod. system.
Regards,
Roland
