If i join as a XI consultant what kind of roles i need to work.

XI Devloper

using functional specs,u can careate or design the scenario.--meens(Create DT,MT,MI etc in integration repository),
Configer the scenario in integration directory , check and monitor the messages in RWB or SXMB_MONI.
XI Adminstrator
-
this indicates the administration role ,,,like instalation,transpotation etc...
This job come under basis part...
these are the 2 type of roles in XI part...

Hi, If you have technical back ground like programming skills in Java or ABAP You would suit to Developer role. Basically Mapping and interfacing.
You may need to have some functional exposure to understand the business process in a better way.
If you have got BASIS back ground you would do mailnly the XI Administrator tasks like installation, upgrade , transports etc., You dont need to be a functional expert for this kind of work.

what are the role and repsonsiblities of an XI Developer?
A) Stpes are as follows.
1) Receives functional specs.
2) Understand the business requirements.
3) Check whether are the required information is provided in Functional specs or not information like,source sturucutre,target strucutre,Transformation rule,test files,validation rules,error handling,data size etc.
4) Raise issue log if there are issues and resolve it with functional team.
5) Start building or designing the tech specs with all the required details like IR and ID part.
6) Develope the object as per the design.
7) Follow the naming convention as per the doc.
😎 Test the developed object with test cases and prepare UTC.
9) Then reveiw will happen with other team members.
