Hi,

When I try to create a Data Type in IR, I am getting the following error.

" You are not permitted to create new objects since the software component cannot be changed "

How to proceed further.

Thanks in advance,

Neena

Double Click Software Component.

Then Check Objects are Modifiable in Obejct Attribute.

then it will allow you to modify the data type.

In your SWCV version, check checkbox Objects are modifiable

This error usually comes when this checkbox is unchecked

Hi,

first of all 'You are not permitted to create new objects since the software component cannot be changed'

this error comes, when you did not check the option in the SWC/namespace. If you open this SWCV-->and namespace then down the screen, you can see 2 check boxes i.e some change object etc ( forgot the name).. check out this and check it. then you can change the SWCV etc.

But it is not advisable to customize the SAP delivered content. It is always prefer to create the SWCV in the SLD with the dependency for the ECC/SRM content and then import that and continue ..

In the SLD (Access the Software Catalog)

1. Create a Product

2. Create a SWC(V) within the Product

3. Define a Usage Dependency (Installation Time) from your SWC

Integration Repository

1. Import your SWCV (you should see a Basis objects node within your SWCV that references the objects within the SRM Server 5.0 SWC).

2. Create a namespace in your SWCV (drill into your SWCV and you'll see an area to add namespaces). Save your SWCV.

3. Proceed with data type enhancement (check out the folllowing blog for more details on this part: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/11/14/xipi-data-type-enhancements-standard-business-partner
