Requirement Type in Sales Order

Hi,

In the Sales Order, there is one field Requirement Type under the tab Procurement. Where does it come from (example: from Material Master,.....?) ? What determines the Requirement Type? Does it depend on the material, which means different material will have different Requirement Type?

Requirements type

The various requirements are identified by their requirements type. The requirements type refers to the requirements class and its control features.

Requirements Class

The requirements class contains all control features for planning such as relevance for planning, requirements planning strategy and requirements consumption strategy. In addition, it is specified at a global level whether an availability check is to take place for the material in the sales and distribution documents on the basis of the ATP quantity (ATP = available to promise) and whether requirements are to be passed on. A finer degree of control can be obtained for sales documents using the schedule line category.

You can select the requirements type in different ways:

Through the MRP group or strategy group in the MRP view of the material's master record

Through the item category and the MRP type in the MRP view

The item category is determined through the item category group in the sales and distribution view of the material master record, and through the order type of the sales document (inquiry, quotation, or sales order).

Hello Wooi,

The reqmnts type controls the Transfer of Requirements.

The transfer of requirements is dependent on the following data:

u2022 The requirements type

u2022 The requirements class

u2022 The checking group

u2022 The schedule line category

The requirements class is the key factor in the transfer of requirements. It is based on the requirements type for the sales document.

The relation between reqmnt class and type is explained by our friend above.

Settings for the transfer of requirements specific to schedule lines are only relevant for sales documentsu2014for example, the sales order. In the shipping documents, however, the settings for the requirements class apply.The requirements class is determined from the requirements type of the material.

Requirement type is determined based on Item category in transaciton OVZI.

Together with the item category and the MRP type of the material, an

allocation to the individual transactions in sales and distribution is

carried out by means of the requirements type. requirements type. Every

requirements type is allocated to a requirements class with its

corresponding control features.

While a requirements type is allocated to a single requirements class, a

requirements class can be allocated to several requirements types. As a

result, it is possible to control different transactions in a uniform

manner with regard to their technical procedure.
