Why we need to give the communication channel and receiver agreement when we are using idoc at receiver side where as in the sender side we are not taking sender agreement and communication channels ? What is the reason?
Hi,
u dont configure IDOC sender adapter:),actually when u test ur IDOC to File or any IDOC sender scenario,u goto WE19 on the R/3 side and specify control parameters when u push the IDOC from R/3,its this control structure which has the info abour XI server and IDOC reached XI,then it looks for logical system in SLD,once after that it finds the corresponding Business system for the logical system and then the interface and thats how IDOC reaches ur scenario.
The sender radio button for IDOC in CC has bene provided by SAP taking into considerations and future enhancements where u have to give sender Communication channel for IDOC.we only use the receiver radio button, but to keep all the adapters consistant in appearance and to facilitate future enhancements SAP has provided the sender radio button,we dont use it in any scenario.for a File to IDOC scenario u will configure the IDOC as receiver.
Thanks

hi......
Communication parameters for sender idoc is maintained in sap itself(ALE settings).Based on the ALE settings idoc adapter of xi will recive the idoc.so no need to create sender communication channel .
where as at receiver side we should maintain Communication channel because while technical routing(of pipeline step) XI will identify the physical receiver system by the RFC destination and port. These information it will take form communication channel.

In receiver IDoc adapter we specify port and RFC destination of Receiver R/3 system
So receiver IDoc adapter is used to specify receiver to whom the IDoc should go
Also it converts IDoc-XML to native IDoc format
