sap gui for java installation

hi expert,

I'm a new in sap.I have some questions about sap gui for java:

1) sap gui for java can be installed in a separate host? my sap system is 6.40 in linux, the sap gui for java can be installed in another PC?

2) sap system is 6.40, if I can install sap gui for java 7.10 rev4?

3) I have installed sap gui for java 7.10 in windows, when I add a new connection, the "save" button is unavailable, why?
