Japanese and Chinese characters not printing

Former Member

Hi ,

We have an issue with the printing of double byte characters like chinese and japanes...

We could see the characters in print preview but these characters are garbled in the print outs.

The characters are printed as # etc.

Could you please let me know how to resolve this issue.

check the fonts you have used for that form.

you can try these fonts for your charcters

japanese-> JPMINCHO, DBGOTHIC

chinese-> CNSONG

also make sure that the device type you are using has the font installed.

Hi,

here are the things u need to check:

1. check your paragraph format and character format, the font you should use should use are:

japanese-> JPMINCHO, DBGOTHIC

chinese -> CNSONG

2. to check if the font is installed in to your device type:

- you can determine the device type you are using by going to tcode SPAD

- once you are in SPAD, enter in output device field the output device you are using (this is located at Device/Server tab)

- once you got the device type of your output device, go to SE73->printer fonts, find the device type in there.

- once you found it in SE73, double click it, you can see there the fonts that were installed for that device type.

- the fonts that i have said earlier should be installed in their in order for the form to be printed correctly.

In my experience, if the works shows in '#'...

sometimes, just try to install corresponding fonts of the printer and the problem will be solved.

Do not always foucs on the SAP form, the printer settings (SPAD).
