U need to write adapter module and use that module in adapter channel for converting excell to xml.
search on sdn u will find the weblog for the same.

Hi Indrajit,
Open your file. Click Save as in the file menu. Click on the drop down list of save as type. Select xml spreadsheet. Save.
Generally we use this exercise to backwork for xslt mapping.
