Harmonization and syndication difrf

Hi All,

1) Harmonization mean Sending consolidated data to connected remote system. Sydication mean syndication records outside MDM. So I can't understand th specific dilff. of two. In case of syndicator we can send data in diff. format that I know.

2) What are the diff. tool we can use in case of harmonizing data . In case of syndication How long I understand we have to used syndicator.

3) What are the importance of key mapping here

Then when we are talking about Central master data management. Then we creat and maintain master data centrally means localy? In this sceanario data never come from heterogenious system ? Can you give a real life or industry specific example where w maintain master data centraly?

CMDM means Central Master Data Management. In this case, the Master data is created Centrally in MDM and then from MDM it can be then sent back to the source systems.

So we maintain a single version of truth by having only one copy of Master data in MDM. From MDM, the master data can be used by various SAP systems and the Legacy systems.CMDM can be implememted in any kind of industry. CMDM is also helpful in bringing some flexibilty.If there is a requirement , the source system can be retired.

Hi,

Importing and Syndication are two generic terms which can be used for taking the data into MDM and then exporting the Data back from MDM.

But in relevance to the scenarios related to MDM, MDM is generally used for Consolidating, Harmonizing the Master Data. It involves the Consolidation of data coming from various Source systems and then Harmonizing the Data Back to the Source systems.

This is done by Enabling the Key mapping in MDM. Key Mapping is used to identify the source system from which the Data is coming from. It helps when the data has to be harmonized from MDM as it identifies the respective source system from which the data has come in from.

Syndication, However is a term which is used to export the records out from MDM. It can be to a local disk.

Hi Pappu,

Harmonization is the concept which says that bring the data from multiple systems, consolidate it and send data back in different remote systems. For sending data to different systems we use MDM Syndicator and this is known as Syndication.

In short Harmonization is a Concept and Syndication is the Operation which is used in Harmonization.

in very simplest words,

Harmonization means syndicating back the records to source systems. Thus syndication is a term for output from MDM.

similarly Importing is term for bringing in data into MDM. Consolidation means Importing Data from source systems.

Hi Pappu,

As per my understanding Harmonization means when you change the data in MDM and update back to source systems across the landscape.

But syndication means just you are syndicating(sending) the existing records, no matter whether it is consolited/harmonized from MDM to other systems using syndicator/Syndication server.

Key mapping means while importing master data you generate the key for each record based on the source system/Remote system.Once you consolidate/harmonize your master data you will be updating based on this key only to the source system/Remote system in Landscape. So Key is the main link between the source system and MDM.
