Hi Experts,

If a customer is serviced by different company codes in a company, would he have different customer numbers.

What's wrong if a customer has different customer numbers within a company?

Thank you

If a customer is serviced by more than one company, they would not have different customer numbers. Similarly you also do not have different customer numbers if company is serviced by more than one sales organisation.

However, It is possible to have different data for the same customer number in different sales areas.

Examples of general data in the customer master record would be Address, Control data, Marketing, Payment transactions, Contact person, and Unloading points.

Regarding your next question, why do you want to maintain different records for a customer when it is not necessary especially with master data management in SAP system?

Hey, thanks for your response.

If a customer '1' has data in company code 900, does it apply to company code 001.

thanks

Company code data only applies to one company code.

Hence for customer 1, data in company code 900 does not apply to company code 001.

Hey, once again with a doubt.

In XD02, why should we specify company code along with customer number?

thanks

If you use XD02 to edit the customer master record, you must specify customer number and company code in order to access the screens containing company code data.
