User Profile created to block the UD, if RR is not done.

Hi Gurus,

For Inspection Type Z10,the UD to be blocked,if Result Recording is not carried out.

ie if open charac. exist, System should block the UD.

I have created a user status coping SAP Std. STATUS PROFILE - QM_L_003 AND

NAMED AS "QM_UD_BK".

System Status Profile - QM_L_003 is used to block the UD

(No Stock Posting Before UD)

I have assigned this Status Profile to the INSP. TYPE - Z10.

I have defined two status namely (1) INIT AND (2) QFIN.

STATUS -- POSITION -- PRIORITY

INIT -- 1 -- 1

QFIN -- 2 -- 1

(1) For Status - INIT - Business transaction

- Access Usage Decision - FORBIDDEN

(2) For Status - QFIN - Business Transaction

- Make Usage Decision - ALLOWED.

I have done the GR.

System created the Inspection Lot.

The insp.lot has user status as "INIT"

Now the UD is blocked.

I am able to do Result Recording.

After completing the the Result Recording, The Status must change to QFIN.

It is not changing.

Hence I am unable to do UD.

MY REQUIREMENT

After entering the Results in Result Recording Screen, the user status must change to QFIN automatically.

Once the QFIN status exists, UD can be done.

Please do the needful.

Add the business transaction "Complete insp. - short-term" to your second status QFIN. Make sure the radio button "SET" is clicked on for this business transaction.

I have chosen the Business Transaction "Complete insp. - short-term" and selected the radio button "ALLOWED".

I have also selected the "SET" radio button.

Then I checked the issue.

I did not record the results.

I did the UD.

The system is blocking the UD. --> Good.

I recorded the RESULT.

Then I did the UD -> The system is blocking the UD.

THIS IS WRONG

THE STATUS "INIT" IS NOT CHANGING TO "QFIN".

I request you to guide me to sort this issue.

The status has changed to "5 - Processing is Completed".

This is for your kind information.

I have not given the Status Number.

Is it mandatory?

In the UD screen..

goto the menus and select

Edit-->Inspection Completion ---> Short-term inspection or complete.

Save

Now try your UD.

I did the activity as per email.

(Edit --> Inspection Completion --> complete).

The user status is not getting changed.

I am unable to enter the ud code.

I finally had a chancce to test this and i am getting similar results to your's. Even though my inspection lot is show short-term inspection complete and Inspection complete, it is not automatically changing my user status to QFIN.

I can offer no explanation why as from everything I see, it should work fine.

I would submit an OSS note on this and see what SAP has to say.

Hi Craig / Raghu,

I have tested the same but the system is allowing me to do UD and the status is also changes automatic.

I think the difference between Raghu's Status profile and what i have configure is only of that business transaction only.

So Raghu I think you should add the "Close inspection - complete" before the "Complete insp. - short-term" and select the radio button on "SET" for "Close inspection - complete".

By doing it system will allow to perform UD.

NOTE:- While you first enter in the UD screen the User status will appear as the first one only. But don't panic, select the appropriate UD code and press enter it will not only change the User status but also allow the UD.

Still my issue is not solved.

Now as soon as I enter the UD, the SECOND STATUS "QFIN"

GOT SELECTED.

BUT THE FIRST STATUS "INIT" IS NOT GETTING DESELECTED.

Because it is not getting deselected,I am unable to do UD.

The improvement is --. now second status "QFIN" IS GETTING SELECTED.

I am giving my customization setting as below.

I have created an USER PROFILE - QM_UD_ST BY COPING

Yes, my customization is different then your. I have pasted mine herewith and BOLDed the differences. I think now this is the only and sure way to solve your issue.

There are two statuses:

1. RRCL (Status Num:- 01, Set as initial status,Lowest status number:- 01, Highest Status Number:-10, Position:-1 , Priority : -1)

2. NSBU (Status Num:- 01, Set as initial status,Lowest status number:- 01, Highest Status Number:-10, Position:-1your is 02 here , Priority : -1)

Under the first status (RRCL) the Transaction control is:----

Make usage decision : - only FORBIDDEN Radio button selected.

*Record inspection results: - only ALLOWED Radio button selected.* (I have two business trx)

Under the first status (NSBU) the Transaction control is:----

---

Close inspection - complete: - ALLOWED & SET radio buttons selected.

Complete insp. - short-term: -ALLOWED & SET radio buttons selected.

Start inv. pstg bef. UsageDec: - FORBIDDEN & NO ACTION radio buttons selected.

The major changes are:--

-The Positions for two statuses. You may have to delete it and configure again, hence the field would be not modifiable. Actually I have tried to configure mine one and test but the system was by default setting the Position "1".

-The configurations.

I think the you should change the status profile straight away and check in the existing lots itself will have its impacts.

I have created a new profile and copied your statuses only.

For RRCL,When we assign the "Make usage decision" as FORBIDDEN AND I have selected "NO ACTION" COMBINATION.

You have stated that RRCL and NSBU - SET AS INITIAL STATUS.

BUT IT IS ACCEPTING FOR ONE OF THE STATUSES ONLY INITIAL STATUS.

*WHEN I ACTIVATE THE INITIAL STATUS BOX FOR THE STATUS - NSBU, I GET THE FOLLOWING ERROR.

THE ERROR IS GIVEN BELOW

In each status profile only an initial status may have a reference number. However, status RRCL and NSBU are

both initial status and for both a reference number is specified.

With out selecting the "INITIAL STATUS" FOR NSBU, I have checked.

The status changes as soon as I select the code.

But for both the cases the status is changing.

I could not stop the UD, when RR is not done.

How you are able to check the box " INITIAL STATUS".

I am able to copy your setting completely except the checking of the INITIAL STATUS BOXES FOR BOTH THE STATUSED - RRCL AND NSBU.

Please guide me.

I think there is some confusion over there. You need to set the initial status to RRCL only.

There are two statuses:

1. RRCL (Status Num:- 01, Set as initial status,Lowest status number:- 01, Highest Status Number:-10, Position:-1 , Priority : -1)

2. NSBU (Status Num:- 01, Set as initial status,Lowest status number:- 01, Highest Status Number:-10, Position:-1your is 02 here , Priority : -1)

There is a correction required in above quote isss...

NSBU (Status Num:- 02, Lowest status number:- 02, Highest Status Number:-20, Position:-1your is 02 here , Priority : -1)

Once if I enter the RR screnn and come out, It is working fine.

I have not recorded the result, it is stopping the UD.

I recorded the result and did the ud.

I am able to do the UD.

It is working fine.

But If I do not enter the RR screen and directly go to UD

It is not stopping the UD.

In our business scenario, RR is done by LAB.

UD is done by Materials dept.

At that time, it is not stopping the UD.

Please try this scenario and confirm me the result.

The requirement is perfectly met

Your setting is excellant.

UD is stopped.

With a status of 0 for your characteristics, it means all the chracteristics are optional. You should make at least one of your characteristics as required, (in control indicators for characteristic). This will cause the system to give an error message that "There are required characteristics open. Do you want to force close the characteristics?"

But I'm not convinced that will resolve the problem though of preventing them from going right to the UD.

Craig has suggested absolute bingo!!!!!. Keep Any of the MIC from your inspection plan as "Required Characteristic" It will prevent the UD before RR.

Try it. And this time I think you will get it resolved as clean sweep.Hence I have tested, it is working for me.

If I go to RR screen, even without entering any data

save and return to UD screen.

it is perfectly working.

I created another GR for which I got new Inspc. lot No.

This time I have gone to UD screen directly with out going to RR screen,

Now it is not stopping the UD.
