what are the objects we transport in XI...i heard that only IR part is transported and ID is again done at client place ....
is it true
Hi,
You can transport IR as well as ID objects. All the channels and Services will be transported. Only re-configuration of the channels need to be done again. This has to be done anyways because the configuration like database details, file server details which you would be using in your scenario might vary from dev to qa to production environment.
Thanks

All objects developed in IR (Interface objects and mapping objects) under a SWCV can be transported
All the objects created in ID can be transported. But it depend the client to client
please refer to the following directory in your xi.
IR

Usr/sap/XID/sys/global/xi/repository_server/export
to import from export file

ID
to export

to import

Hi,
You can transport each and every object individually or can transport at a time it depends. For example if you are changing one particular object then you have to transport that individual object then with the help of file transport you can achieve it.
Now coming to second part of your question
You can transport even ID part from our side, in my project we do transport ID part from our side.
Below is just for your info:
There are 2 ways of tranport of objects,
1. Using File Transport
2. using CMS.
File Transport
1. Export the IR objects from Tools --> Export . The file willl be saved as a TPZ file in the Export folder of your Server.
2. Go to the next server and copy the file of step 1 in the import folder of this new srerver and then tools --> Import.
3. Integration Directory objects , same as above if you want to reatin Business System names.
4. If you want to renames the bsuiness system names, you create Transport Group in the SLD and then map the Source Business System to the target business System in the SLD and then you do the import.

Your SWCV can be exported and imported using TPZ files into the IR.
The ID also use TPZ files and as the objects are imported , the business system details will be filled up .

Hi,
IN general all the objects that are developed in IR has to be transported.
However the ID Objects may or may not be transporeted. It differs from client to client.
In our project we transport only the IR Objects.
We do the configuration all from scratch in QA and Production systems.
