Hi,
We are planning to install ECC 6.0 with ASCS on a different host and then CI/DI and database on a different hosts. I know for a normal CI I need the following filesystem:
/sapmnt
/usr/sap
/usr/sap/trans
/oracle/client
My question is since we will be installing ASCS separately what filesystem do i need and how much space is needed.
Thanks in Advance,
Naveed
Hi,
When I installed ASCS...
/usr/sap/trans/ - 2GB
/usr/sap/<SID>/ - 1GB
/usr/sap/<others> - under 1MB
Your system JUST works if you have about 3GB for ASCS. As you know, however, you can't be too careful to have much space in your disk.

TK

What you need are
- /sapmnt
- /usr/sap
- /usr/sap/trans (optional)
/oracle/client is not required because ASCS doesn't communicate directly to DB instance AFAIK.
If you have antoher NFS server as SAP Global Host which contains all SAP binary and profile,
/sapmnt can be just mount point to NFS server.
Hence no space is required.
If you have transport directory on SAP Global Host as well, /usr/sap/trans is just mount point to NFS server.
On the other hand /usr/sap contains ASCS contents locally under /usr/sap/<SID>/ASCS<nr>.
The required amount is not so big (less than 100MB).
