** Alert Property 'Max No.of Delivers' - It is not clear for me

Hi friends,

Could you kindly explain clearly for the 'Max No. of Dels' property for the Alert Category in the transaction ALRTCATDEF.

Multiple notification u2013 With multiple notification the recipients receive several notifications for the same alert, if the alert is not confirmed. The recipients are notified as often as is specified in transaction ALRTCATDEF ® Properties tab ® Maximum number of deliveries. The time interval depends on the report execution interval.

Once an alert is generated the configured user gets a notification mail in his alert inbox on XI RWB. In order to stop any more same alert messages one has to confirm them here. Then the system understands that the alert is being attended and will not send any more same alert mails. If not, it will send the configured max number of alerts for the same error until it is confirmed.

Max No of Dels: Specifies the maximum number of times an alert is to be delivered if it is not confirmed. This refers to external delivery via e-mail or to a cell phone or pager.
