Hallo,
At the moment we use backup_dev_type = rman_disk
This command only saves the cotrolfile Backup and the Logs on a locally devis. The database files and Archives save via RMAN.
Now we think there is an risk to loose the logs and Controlfile Backups. Therefore we try to use rman_stage to copy the files which arent backupt with rman.
We dont like to use rman_util for this files.
But it is not which parameters must be set in the init<SID>.sap file for the stage copy of the files, which arent saved with rman.
Stefan
Hello Stefan,
with every backup you take brbackup creates one copy of the control file into the backup folder.
The copy of init<sid>.ora in the sapbackup folder is updated as well.
For tape backups these files are also put onto the tape.
If you backup these filesystem backups to tape this will also be done.
Copying these files via rman is not supported (and not necessary).
You can backup them via the "non-database backup" option.
Anyhow, from BRTOOLS point-of-view a filesystem backup is considered to be an intermediate backup. The 'real' backup to a storage medium like tape has to be done 'outside' the BRTOOLS then.
