In PI7.0 is it mandatory to keep the SLD in the same PI system which contains the Integration
builder and Intergration Directory?
If the SLD content of a PI7.0 system exported and imported to another PI7.0 system will that
work or any other specific settings requried?
Hi,
hope this is helpful:

hi,
Once you have created SLD in Dev below transport mechanism is used for transporting the obj from DEV to QA and PROD:
Transport mechanism
1. Create Technical System and Business Systems for the QA system.
2. Create Transport Groups in the Business System.
3. Create Transport Targets in the Source Business SYstem.
Check the link for:
Configuring Transport Groups and Tranport Targets

Your SWCV can be exported and imported using TPZ files into the IR.
The ID also use TPZ files and as the objects are imported , the business system details will be filled up .
Look at the below weblog for XI transports.

SLD is not a component of PI. PI uses it for various system information. SLD is used also by other Netweaver components like portal

If transported properly, it will surely work. This is a usual practice when there r multiple SLD in landscape (Dev, QA, Prod)

You can keep SLD in separet way and keep separete SLD for dev/Q/Prod systems. However, SAP recommends to keep single SLD.
