SAP Netweaver Developer Studio Installation

Hi,

I have installed SAP SAP Netweaver Developer Studio version 2.0.3.(on system:Windows XP)

For creating the Portal project, I did not find the option "Portal Application" in the File menu.

I have checked for this option also in

New->Project->Other->, but I did not find it. Do I need to add any plugin. Where will I find this plugin.Can any one of you help me over this, or pls send any documentation link over the same.

HI,

Welcome to SDN.

File->new->project->select portal application->create a portal appl project->project name->finish.

File->new->project->select portal application->create new portal appl object->select proj name->expand portal component->select abstract portal component(or the on you want)->fill name,package name->finish.

inside docontent() give respone.write("hi");

deploy and run.

Hi,

Thx for your reply, i understood that a plugin is required for this.I have tried it by copying the same plugin of older EP5 version in to this plugins directory.

But after that when I select New->Project->, Iam getting the option as PortalApplication->,but it is prompting for few settings, when I pressed "ok" by keeping the default values as is,Iam getting the error saying as PDK must be running.

Where can I get the PDK kit.Plz help.

Hi Chakravarthy

Extracting the pluggins for EP 5.0 wouldn't do you any good. Because those pluggins are provided in order to create Portal applications in Eclipse. NWDS comes with these pluggins already installed in it. I am presuming that the version of NWDS that you have installed is a buggy version. Please uninstall it and try installing the latest version.

Hi,

the reason I have copied the plugin of older Eclipse version is to see the menu item "PortalApplication" in the menu,otherwise the installation software of Netweaver Dev.Studio doesnot have that plugin.

Th only licensed version we have with our company is of 2.0.3. The doc'n link doesnot contain the necessary help over this.

I'm not sure if it exists in that version or not. I assume that you are running J2ee engine SP3? This is why you cannot use a newer version of NWDS?

I have 2.0.11, Portal project is there.

You get to it by.......File -> New -> Other -> Portal Application.
