Being new to MaxDB (and DB admin in general) I created a 20 GB log volume during the SAP Content Server installation.
Now I think several smaller (200 MB or so) volumes would be better than one huge one (right?).
I have looked high and low and have not been able to find documentation to resize or delete the existing volume, data volumes yes but not log volumes. I have tried everything I can in the MaxDB GUI in online, admin and offline modes, de-activate logging etc.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated and points awarded. Thank you all,
David
Hello David,
-> What is the version of the installed database?
-> Are you SAP customer? Please let me know, if you could review the SAP notes::

-> You need to create the databackup first, then initialize the database for the restore using
the DBMGUI tool, for example, and during the initialization of the database parameters
reset the size of the logvolumes. Follow further steps & restore the database using the created databackup.
Please review the SAP note 129352 for the details/steps.
