hi,

1). can any one explain me about Integration scenario and Integration processes in "INTEGRATION REPOSITORY"?

Integration Scenario is a Graphical Layout showing the message flow between systems.

for that you need to create actions (send and receive) and design the Scenario in IR.

It is mainly cosmetic in nature showing the overall picture -- however it has also an use...

If created correctly with all the component.. actions, connections.. then In integration directory you can go for the configuration wizard which will create the ID objects for you...

this should be helpful on integration scenario

integration process:

Integration Process is nothing but ur BPMs.

BPM in SAP XI is generally used for stateful message processing. Having said that if you want two messages to be processed depending on certain criteria you will have to use BPM.

The places where we generally use BPM is:

1. Error handling.

2. Handling messages from multiple senders

3. Collecting of messages

4. Splitting of messages

5. Processing message based on certain criteria

6. If the receiver structure is created based on certain criteria.

Check these links to know how to and when to use bpm

2). why we need to use this IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?

IS

The integration Scenario in IR will be useful for re-presenting the whole flow of the interface.

If you do the itegration scenrio in Design time then you do not need to follow the stpes which is required in configuration like creating Aggrement, determination and all. you just need to import the scenario from integration repository that will avoid configure part.

Usually during the audit time the auditor checks whether IS is designed or not? as that is the good practive to design ur scenario with IS.

Companion Guide to Integration scenario

/people/venkat.donela/blog/2006/02/17/companion-guide-to-integration-scenario

It will be good loaction to get all the information about whole interface.

You could either create or transport the same Integration scenario in ID.

With the use of Integration scenario you could model the whole interface with all minute details

It comes under best practices. So if you create the IS it will be very easy for you to understand the and designe the business flow. Morevere becomes very easy while creating/configuring the Integration Directory, you just need to import the design objects form IR.

If you will not create IS, there is no harm. So it all depends upon client and also you.

IP:

1. Error handling.

2. Handling messages from multiple senders

3. Collecting of messages

4. Splitting of messages

5. Processing message based on certain criteria

6. If the receiver structure is created based on certain criteria.

Thanks,

Vijaya.

Hi,

Brief about IP,IS

IS is the flow of messages from source to target. IS is not required. its optional. It is the digaram tells the flow from soruce to target. You have to import this IS in ID. With our creating IS also you complete you scenario in ID itself.

IP is used for BPM. It's deal with Business process. For BPM scenarios you have to used IP.

Thanks,

Hi Bharat,

Integration Scenario

An integration scenario completely models the exchange of

messages for a collaborative process and provides an overview of the process flow.

It is overview of your whole integration scenario. In Integration Scenario each Swimlane represents a different business system. Mean you will have number of swimlanes as number of business system involved in your integration. Swimlane contains action. Actions are used for mentioning Inbound and outbound interfaces for the corresponding swimlane(business system).

Why we are using Integration Scenario?

We use integration scenario to genearate Integration Directory objects like Receiver Determination, Interface determination, Sender agreeement etc.

All XI content objects must be assigned to one or more integration scenarios (IS). Delivering XI-Content in the framework of an IS has the following advantages:

1. The IS provides you with a central point of access for all integration objects. This is necessary for semantic and technical integration and facilitates business-driven development.

2. The IS helps customers to understand the underlying business scenario of XI content objects.

3. The IS serves as a kick-start for the configuration of the content at the customer site. The aim is to minimize the configuration effort for the customer.

Integration Processes

An integration process is an executable, cross-system process for processing messages. In an integration process you define all the process steps that are to be executed and the parameters relevant for controlling the process.

You implement integration processes when you want to define, control, and monitor complex integration processes that extend across enterprise and application boundaries. The design and processing of integration processes is also known as cross-component Business Process Management (cross-component BPM, ccBPM).

the following case,u should consider to use integration process.

1.Control/Monitor the messages in XI

2. Collect/Merge the messages in XI

3. Split the messages in XI

4. To Multicast an Message

5. Send an Alert based on the very complex business logic

6. To integrate with cross component business process

2. what is Actions?

An action represents a function within an application component that is not subdivided further. Actions subdivide the process flow of an integration scenario.

The vertical progression of actions from top to bottom corresponds to the logical process flow.

HI

A total solution generally implements several cross-system processes, which you can handle separately. SAP XI allows you to document a cross-system process graphically, in the form of an integration scenario.

The elements of an integration scenario reference the design objects (integration processes ,interfaces, and mappings) required for the collaborative process directly. However, this graphical description does not merely serve as a point of entry for the cross-system process. The associations described in the integration scenario are also used to generate and check configuration objects automatically in the Integration Directory.

Integration Processes

You can define integration processes graphically in the Integration Builder, in the same way as integration scenarios. They can be executed on the Integration Server and can handle the following tasks, among others:

Executing a central process involving multiple systems on the Integration Server

Forwarding a message to a receiver following receipt or confirmation of other messages

Collecting several messages to send to a receiver as one message

An integration process can receive asynchronous messages and send them (a)synchronously, in the same way as an application system. You can control this process by using logical conditions. The most important difference from normal message exchange is that the integration process status stays the same until the integration process is complete (in other words, integration processes are stateful).

Hi,

1.Integration scenario is pictorial representation of your interface.

by importing Integration scenario in to ID, you can create

configuration scenario automatically.

integration process is used for BPM .

please use search option, u can find so many links related to IS and IP.

warm regards

You use an integration scenario to define the message exchange and message flow for collaborative processes. Normally, these are processes between different business partners that are generally coupled by the exchange of messages.

The integration scenario provides you with a central point of access for all objects that you require for semantic and technical integration, for example interfaces, mappings, and software components.

You can integrate an executable integration process into an integration scenario.

Integration processes

Integration processes makes use of abstract interfaces but the bsns systems and services use sync/async interfaces.

A bpm in simple terms refer to sequence of steps which are executanle in nature.Bsns services and systems basically refer to the kind of adapter used in the scenario.A bpm contains many steps which can refer to bsns system or service thru interfaces and it does notdifferentiate between the two .....only the concerned interfaces are mentioned in the container.
