Windows Server 2003 Connecting to SQL on other Server

Hi All,

Our setup is as follows;

We have our server running Windows Server 2003, on which the SQL databases are installed (and SAP Server). We have several other machines in the same domain running SAP as clinets. They are all connecting fine with the Server and SQL.

We also have one additional server running Windows Server 2003 but its not in the domain. We installed SAP as a clinet on this second server but when starting up SAP we can't connect to the other server which hosts SQL.

Ironicaly, other applications (Visual Studio) running on the seond server can connect to the SQL server without any problem.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Myran

Any error message? Logfiles? We can just "guess" what is happening...

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your response. I managed to solve the issue. The server was missing the SQL client. Once I installed the client it worked fine.

Thanks,

Myran
