Q1: I don't understand exactly the meaning of operation mode exception. During the exception period, it does not belong to day mode or night mode. Why do we need operation mode exception? Please advise.
Q2: How to understand this sentence "The exception operation mode can only be defined as a unique event". It seems that I don't know how to define the exception. Please advise.
Thanks so much.

Hi ,
Simple example is , In an organization employees will be interacting with system a lot ( for exapmle from 9 AM to 5:30 PM ) .So ther there will be a need of more dialog process.
Once office hours are over , there will be less user interaction with system ,hence less dialog work process.
If there is a need to run lot of batch process ,then this can be scheduled in the night time ,if needed, by converting the dialog workprocess to background work processes ( done by RZ04 ) .
Exception operation helps in a case where there is activity planned which is one time ( adhoc) for which we can switch the work process accordingly .you can specify a day when the planned activity going to happen hence you can avoid the performance problems and save the runtime of that activity.
You have to define the time table for this switch ( Normal or exception). If you want to manulayy switch the operation mode , you can perform a simulation and check if this switch is possible or it gives error.
RZ03 -->control ---> switch operation mode -
>Simulation
If work process differ, RZ03 -->control ---> switch operation mode -
> (On selected or on all servers )
Hope it helps.
Thanks a lot ,

An operation mode exception is simply to schecule the use of a different workprocess configuration during a specific period of time.... basically the exception will overrule the standard day or night mode so a specific set of workprocesses can be used.
hope this is clear now.
