Dear Experts,

Good day!

While migrating data from a legacy system to SAP ISU, is it necessary to create master data in SAP i,e Business master data and Technical masterdata. The situation is that a utility company is using a legacy system at present and that system has a masterdata of its own. Now, implementing SAP-ISU for the first time. is it necessary to create a masterdata in SAP-ISU. please explain.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

When transferring data from legacy system to sap isu system, we need to have Relavant Master data.

Example,

If u have 10,000 Devices, if u want transfer from legacy to sap isu system

then u need to have its

Register Group

Device category

serial number configuration......etc

But its not mandatory to have connection object, devic location,premise....for to create device.

For Installation:

the start date of the installation should lie before the MOVE IN.

Thank you,

Which means Technical masterdata is not needed? i mean creating connection object, premise etc are not needed. What about business masterdata?

Plz explain a bit in detail.

Hello,

For creating device , technical master data is not needed.

Master Data usually not defined with time.Initially u need to maintain number ranges.

BUSINESS PARTNER migration:

Business partner NOT dependent on any other objects.

CONNECTION OBJECT:

Connection Object not dependent on any other objects

effected No. range obects

ISU_EHAU

OBJNR

ADRNR

AENDBELEG

PREMISE:

Connection object is mandatory i.e we need to upload connection object data and then go for premise data.the number range object is ISU_EVBS

DEVICE LOCATION:

Connection object is mandatory but premise is not mandatory.
