Hi!
I would like to set up CCMS-Ping Availability for some systems from SAP Solution Manager.
Do I need for this action to install the SAP CCM4X Agent on the sattelite system?
Thank you very much!
regards
Thom
Hello,
No, you do not need to set up the SAPCCM4X or SAPCCMSR agent on remote systems in order to do CCMSPING availability monitoring.
All that you need to do is get the CCMSPING agent (ccmagent.sar) and register it at your solution manager system.
I am not sure if you can configure CCMSPING from the Solution Manager directly. There is a UI in TX RZ21 (Techn. Infrastructure -> Availability -> Configure CCMSPING...). You'll find setup documentation in help.sap.com.

Hello Thom,
The answer is NO, you don't need to install the CCMSPing agent on the satellite systems.

The 2nd last link in the above link says so.
