hi,
NWDS..its just a java tool...and it has just the java stack..
Where as XI has both JAVA and ABAP stack..
this two blogs will help you to create webservices

Hi,
NetWeaver Developer Studio is just a tool for developing EP Components and java code. It is an IDE like eclipse but more features than eclipse.
But NetWeaver is Platform for different technologies like
EP,XI,BI,MDM,MI,...etc.
EP--People Integraion
XI--Process Integraion,
BI--Information Integration.
Reward points if needful.
Thanks,
RamuV

Chitanya,NWDS is a IDE.(Development Environment).
XI is a middleware tool.It is a part of Netweaver technologies.
Suppose if you want to write a java code for creating Webservice then that you can develop in NWDS, you can use that webservice in XI.
Suppose for java mappings in XI you want to write a java mapping program. That program you can develop in NWDS.You can use it in XI.
For any java programs development you can do it in NWDS.It is different from XI. NWDS is an IDE.
Hi chat,
Netweaver developer studio is IDE means which helps you to create, build, deploy, admin and maintain web or stand alone application. This editor is the first web based cross integrated editor, that's why it got most industry attention.
netweaver xi is the part of the netweaver. We can break netweaver in to four parts.People integration, process integration, business integration and application integration. XI comes under process integration means transfer data between SAP and non SAP system.
Hope it will help you.
HI
XI is a part of the Netweaver.

People Integration Layer
Information integration
Process Integration Layer: XI comes under this layer
Application Platform

HI,
SAP NetWeaver is paltform to integrate various systems/ applications with the use of SAP XI technology.
SAP NetWeaver is a web-based, open integration and application platform that serves as the foundation for enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) and allows the integration and alignment of people, information, and business processes across business and technology boundaries. It utilizes open standards to enable integration with information and applications from almost any source or technology.
So Netweaver utilizes the SAP XI technology to integrate various systems.
