Adding language for a non-supported language

Dear all,

My client need to use the system in a language that is not yet supported by SAP.

We still can create the language key but there's no import package for that language from SAP.

Is there any way that I can still import English into that language key and will change the text by using GUIXT tool in necessary screens?

I try to import the English langugue package into that language key but the system do not allow.

Thanks

Giang

You can´t import english into a non-english language code but you can refill the new language with english.

Hi Markus,

Please let me know how to refill the new language with English?

Hope that we do not have to go to text element by text element?

Thanks

No - you can select that option in SMLT for the new language (put the cursor on the language and use the menu to "language" - "refill")

HI Markus,

I couldn't find the "refill" action in the menu.

My system is ECC 6.0

When I select the new language, then go to "Language" menu, then I see submenu "classifiy", "supplement language", "Import package" , "Special Action".

Under "special Action" there's no "Initial Entry" also.

thanks

I meant "supplement" - sorry for confusion (I was logged on in German..)

Thank you very much, it's almost done before giving the full 10 points

However, after doing such step (the job has finished) when I log in with the new language key, the system still show the error status "invalid textpool timestamp for gui..."

What else did I miss in order to have the work complete?

After having supplemented, did you "refill" the client you´re logging on?

Hi Markus,

How to do the client "refill" as you mentioned?

Language imports/supplements are usually done in client 000. The "normal" steps are:

Client 000:

- install language key (SMLT)

- import the language package

- import support package dependent language parts

- supplement language in 000

Client XYZ:

- Refill (use the menue again - as before - Lanauge - Special Actions - Client Maintenance)

Hi Markus,

Because the language key doesn't support language package by SAP. So, i cannot do 2 steps (import the language package, import support package dependent language parts).

I tried:

In client 000

- Install language key (SMLT)

- supplement language in 000

In client XYZ

- Refill (use the menu again - as before - Language - Special Actions - Client Maintenance).

When i log on with new language key, there is error : "no vendor supply"

Thanks,

Giang

It's done. I mistook the last step.

Thank you very much.
