It depends of the scenario that you should use.
Thera are various scenarios at Adobe Interactive Forms: Offline forms and online forms.
Webdynpro (both Java and ABAP) is only used at the online scenario.
If you use offline forms, you only need ABAP knowledge.
What are your project requirements?

David
Thank You David.
I My self doesn't know know the exact requirement.
I have been asked to learn Adobe Interactive forms for an upcoming project. So Iam starting from scratch like finding what n all i shud know to work on it.
I have work experience in SAP Smartforms. As per my understanding adobe is something similar to it with some mdifications.
Could you please tell me what else I should know to work on it.
Thanks for your help once again.
Regards,
Radhika.
It depends off the type of forms you have to create.
If you must only use Adobe Interactive Forms at the Print Scenario (similar to SmartForms), you have to know ABAP, structure of Adobe Forms (concepts of interface and context ) and form editing in Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
If you use the Interactive Scenario (user can fill in the form) the required knowledge depends on the scenario to use:
- Offline: Similar to Print Scenario. The user can send the form back, and you must know ABAP to retrieve the forms data
- Online: Forms are WebDynpro objects embeded in WD Apps. You must know WebDynpro (Java or ABAP).
Just surf at the link I gave you before, there is a lot of info about it.
Regards,
David.

Hi
For learning Adobe Interactive forms, learn in this order..
-> Know about all the UI elements in the 'Library' tab.
-> Then learn about all the controls(Palettes) for each UI Element.
-> How to design a good looking and user friendly form?( comes by practice)
-> Then learn scripting(JScript).
The help docs given in the previous posts will help for this.
Thanks
Prabhakar.

Hi,
and you have to keep in mind that designing forms is just one capability you have to know.
You always need to know at least one framework/technology that embeds Interacgtive Forms.
For example.
If you are interested in printing based on this technology: You also have to understand transaction SFP (the Form Builder).
If you want to use Interactive Forms for implementing online scenarios you could for example use Web Dynpro (ABAP + Java) or the Internet Service Request (ISR) framework.
For offline scenarios you could look into Guided Procedures.
Or you want to do low level programming in ABAP using the PDF Object in ABAP (CL_FP_PDF_OBJECT).
My experience is that Designing the form using Designer is the smaller and easier part.

Juergen
