Database Buffer Quality

Hi Friends,

I am working on SAP 4.7E with Oracle9i/HP-UX11i. Our system database Data Buffer quality is around 88%. Should it be 99%?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Krishna

Hi:

Data buffer with a hit ratio less that 85% is not good for performance reasons; anyways it mostly depends on your current system configuration and memory allocation.

For instance, if you restart the SAP system you will notice bad ration % until buffers and activities returns to normal again (buffer population due to user’s activities).

If you face poor performance (check with ST03N, ST06, ST04, ST02) you will need to pay special attention to system parameters.

Hope this helps!
