Hello All,

We have a peculiar problem while creating a new sales order with reference to the old sales orders.

When ship to party address is changed in new sales order while copying from old sales order ,all the old sales orders which are in the document flow ship to party address get changed.

Can you tell us what is the solution for the same

Eg.

Sales order no.1000 is created with reference to sales order no.500 .

When ship to party address is changed in sales order no. 1000,this changes gets applied to sales order no.500 also...

How ot control this?

Regards

Sudha

Hello Suda,

When changing the address data of a partner, the changed data is copied

to the reference document or follow-up document. This is SAP R/3

standard functionality.

It is standard design to:

1. Create a sales document and change the address so that it becomes a

manual address. Save the document.

2. In a document created with reference to the first document, change

the address again and save.

3. See now that both documents have the same subsequent address.

No new manual address number is issued on the change of address on

any subsequent documents. The original manual address indicator will

be retained for all linked documents.

In order to differentiate between the addresses, you need to create a

modification.

I hope this helps explain the system behaviour.

Hi lan

Thanks for ur reply.

But if this happens for all orders then i can understand it is standard sap functionality..

But it happens for 1 or 2 orders....only same address number is maintained and copied to all other orders of the documet flow...

Can u tell us what needs to be done for not changing the address of old orders in the document flow...

Hi Sudha,

For those two sales orders, do they have manual addresses?

If you have access to SAP OSS notes, modification note 97832 may be the solution here.

I hope this helps.

Did you change the address in the customer master general data, or in the sales order?
