From where u are triggerting the Alerts

Is it from BPM? or by defining Alert Rules?

No BPMs...its a simple file to IDOC,JMS to IDOC scenarios....

by defining the alerts...as for the blog by Michael...

Which means that you performed all steps correctly.

like

1. Creating Alert Category

2. Cratin Alert Rules

3. Subscribing the Rules.

Still you are not getting Alerts.

Have you checked that your UserId assigned with email address.

Hey

In alert configuration in RWB just make sure you have dis-selected(uncheck) the check box "Suppress multiple alerts of this rule"

My guess is that right now its checked and due to which if no action is taken, subsequent alerts will not be triggered.

Dis-selecting the check box will generate alerts irrespective of action being taken on them or not

you are the man Aamir.....i didnt notice that....my mailbox just flooded with mails....

what is the use of that option in Alert configuration....

Hey

well when you get a mail in your mailbox,in the bottom you have a link to take action over that mail.

Now if you don't take any action and that checkbox is checked no alerts are triggered.alerts are only triggered once you take action over that mail and sort out the error.

If the checkbox is not checked, then action is bypassed and alerts are triggered as soon as they occur.

Hey

Scenario 1:"Suppress multiple alerts is check"

Suppose you get a mapping error in sxmb_moni,then an alert will be triggered and an e-mail will be send to all the recipient whose mail ID was set in ALRTCATDEF,in the bottom of this e-mail there will be a link which says something like "Take action over this alert",when you click on that link XI will consider that you took care of that alert so its ready to send other alerts,if you don't click that link XI will consider that you didn't took care of that alert hence it will not trigger other alerts for that specific alert rule(even if there is an error) and will wait for you to take action.

Scenario 2:"Supress multiple alerts is un-checked"

In this case XI will not take into consideration if you clicked that link or not(taken care of alert or not),it will keep on sending alerts as soon as you get any error for that specific alert rule.

Thanx

Aamir
