Hello,
The question is straight forward. How can i debug an ISA customized application in NWDS. I have established a Remote Java Application Debug process with the server but there is a lack of information from SAP for debugging a JSP page in ISA framework.
I have found the next paragraph in the SAP Internet Sales 4.0 - Development and Extension Guide:
The ISA application is delivered without Java source code. That means that you cannot perform changes in the delivered code.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you have access to source code, please only use it for information purposes and debugging. Modifications in the delivered ISA source-code are not allowed.
And the question is.. where can i find the source code for the debugging purposes that SAP mention?
Best regards,
Thanassis
Hi,
I guess the debugging applies mainly to custom code.
Maybe also for debugging JSP, I have never done this.
I have decompiled java classes for research purposes only. (Cavaj is a good decompiler.) I guess you could try decompiling SAP classes and add them to your project for debugging purposes. I haven't tried this though.
Good luck,
Roelof

From what i have seen the debugging applies to custom code but I'm thinking that there is a way to start debugging in standard SAP b2c or b2b ISA site.
Also the debugging for ISA is in java classes level and not in JSP level but this also can be fixed be creating a new J2EE project (Web module project+enterprise application project) and enabling JSP debugging.
I'll try Cavaj for decompiling the classes.
Thanks a lot,
Thanassis
SAP Note 628325 is the solution to the problem!

If you read more carefully page 146 of SAP Internet Sales 4.0 - Development and Extension Guide at the paragraph..
*********************************************************
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you have access to source code, please only use it for information purposes and debugging. Modifications in the delivered ISA source-code are not allowed.

Thus, the source code for ISA 4.0 is available only if your company has a valid ISA license. Thus, the ISA debugging b2c/b2b starts when the source code is available.....
