Hi,
In my sales order related delivery, I have noted that in my delivery the total qty is 100 units with item category Tan but when i split the item, the qty of 100 units gets spilt into different batches or same batches with different quantiies which add upto 100 units. but the item category for the batches is different from TAN. that is the main item has an item category as Tan but on splitting the item categoru against the batches is different from TAN.
1 )my question is how this controlled and where it is controlled, i.e. wehter in delivery item category or sales item cateogry and what paramaters needs to be defined in categotry determination.
2) does the batch split happen in delvery only when batch determination happnes in delvery only ???

The batch split will takes place in the delivery only.
You check in these areas
SPRO>Logistics execution>Shipping>Deliveries>Define itemcategory determination in deliveries,here you check which itemcategory is assigned to your delivery document type.
SPRO>Logistics general>Batch management>Batch determination and batch check>Activate automatic batch determination in SD--> Activate Automatic Batch Determination for Delivery item cat.
Here you which delivery item category checked for automatic batch.
