- What is your system landscape?

- What are "Transfer global settings", what kind of global settings are you referring to?

- Where do the "currency exchange rate" originally come from?

- Along which path (System A -> System B -> System C) shall the transport take place?

- This is really a simple landscape - The values needs to update from only one ECC system

- The global settings I need to transfer are:

Currencies, Unit of measure, Fiscal Year variant and Factory Calendar.

- The currency exchange rate coming from only one ECC system.

from your information I see that it is related to report RSIMPCURR (& setting up a process chain). Searching in SDN content gave me some hits in [forum BI general|;, so is this question related to data transfer from ECC to BI? Then I recommend to place the question in the appropriate forum.
