Hi,
I have NWDS on my personal and the CE 7.1 on another (server) machine.
1.) Now, is it required for me to install the Discovery System to explore or develop ESOA applications?
2.) What is the first step to explore after installing the above? The Wiki and Blogs provide some high-level information - however I am not following since they do mention the DS.
3.) Can someone point me to a very simple step by step example for ESOA?
Thanks.
Hi ,
I suggest u first go through the concept of consuming an enterprise service in NWDS from ES workplace.
There are certain pre requisites for it such as configuring the CE server in ur NWDS in prop,WEB AS JAVA and then just follow this simple blog..
/people/boris.mohr/blog/2007/01/23/how-to-guide-for-consuming-a-web-service-with-a-standalone-client-using-sap-netweaver-application-server-javatm-ee-5-edition
once u r done with this ..then u can think about the ES repository in ur landscape...if u have finished with this..we can proceed towards a more complaex scenario of enhancing the pre delivered enterprise service courtesy of the enhancement pack delivered by SAP
Hope it helps!!!!!!!!!!

>> No. If you already have ECC (ERP), CRM etc system, you can go ahead with using those Enterprise Services (ES) pre-delivered with these systems.
2.) What is the first step to explore after installing the above? The Wiki and Blogs provide some high-level information - however I am not following since they do mention the DS.
>> You can just explore SAP pre-delivered ES at ESWorkplace (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace), check if the system requirement met your own system. Subsequently, you can publish your desired ES to the Service Registry in Netweaver CE 7.1. Development with Webdynpro, Visual Composer, CAF etc can be started from there onward.
3.) Can someone point me to a very simple step by step example for ESOA?
You can try this tutorial at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/108ef7ba-8abd-2a10-f787-d5f29c5f... , use your own ECC, CRM etc system, instead of Discovery System.
Hope it's helpful.
