tapedrive not detected at sap level in DB13 and BRTOOLS

Hai Experts!

Ours is ECC6.0 and we have it in unix operating system with oracle 10g database. HP tapedrive at o/s level it is detecting but at sap level it is not detecting when we schedule backup through either DB13 or BRTOOLS.

when we go through brtools i got an error " checking label on volume in device/dev/rmt/2mn failed ".

please help me regarding this issue its very urgent for me.

Hi Kiran,

Please check yhe label on Tape & initlize them with force option & check the configuration of tape device in init<SID>.sap file . Paste the detail log of database bckup.

Looks like the Problem with the Device address problem in init<SID>.sap file.

You have to configure the tape device in init<SID>.sap too - did you do that?
