I have been trying to install SAP Netweaver 7.0 SP14 SR3 Java trail version without success. I am
getting an error during installation of the Java server(Phase 30: Start Java engine). Please take the
walkthrough below and help me find out where I am going wrong:
PREPARATION FOR INSTALL:
1. Fresh install of Windows XP home(Service Pack 3)
2. j2sdk1.4.2_16
3. Did not install the loopback adaptor
4. Downloaded the files:
NW_JAVA_700SP14_SR3.part1, NW_JAVA_700SP14_SR3.part2,
NW_JAVA_700SP14_SR3.part3 and NWDS700SP14 into the same target directory but extracted
NW_JAVA_700SP14_SR3.part1 only as per the instructions.
5. Set the PATH in user variables and JAVA_HOME in the system variables.
6. Disabled Firewall and anti-virus prior to installation
INSTALLATION OF MAXDB AND JAVA ENGINE:
Below are the values I entered while Defining Parameters:
1. SAP System ID(SAPSID): J2E
2. Master Password all users: abcd1234
3. Database ID(DBSID): J2E
Database Host: Private (My computer name)
4. Location of Software Package RDBMS MaxDB path: C:\Installation Folder\MAXDB76_NW07\
DATA_UNITS\MAXDB_WINDOWS_I386
5. UC Kernel NW 7.0 SR3 path: C:\Installation Folder\NW05SR3_KRNL3\KU_WINDOWS_I386
6. SLD Destination: From the 3 options, I chose No SLD Destination
7. Just reviewed the Parameter summary without making any changes and started installation
8. Fails at Phase 30(Start Java Engine). Getting an error message in a pop-up which says:
ERROR 2008-06-14 18:58:32.250
CJS-30151 Java process server0 of instance J2E/JC00 [Java: (dispatcher: RUNNING, server0: UNKNOWN)] did not start after 6:00 minutes. Giving up.
ERROR 2008-06-14 18:58:32.296

I never tried without the loopback adapter before and I wouldn't dare.....
But, here we go anyway:
The first time Java is started can take a looong time
Start the SAP Management Console
Check if the server0 is started now, if not
stop the system
then start it again.
Wait for 10-15 minutes
Then
Retry the installation step.
If you continue to get errors it could depend on the loopback adapter.
