ASCS and Central Instance

I am going to install an IDES system on a Windows system. Here is my installation sequence. Please advise whether it's right.

1. Install Database.

2. Install Java

3. Install Central Service Instance for ABAP (ASCS). (system number 00)

4. Install Database Instance(system number 01)

5. Install Central Instance (ABAP). (system number 02)

6. Install Dialog Instance (ABAP). (system number 03)

7. Install Java Central Service Instance. (system 04)

8. Install Java Central Instance and Dialog Instance.

I am not sure what's difference between ASCS and ABAP Central Instance and right installation sequence. Please advise.

Thanks.

James

This is only needed in a cluster environment (read installation guide)

> 4. Install Database Instance(system number 01)

> 5. Install Central Instance (ABAP). (system number 02)

> 6. Install Dialog Instance (ABAP). (system number 03)

This is not needed, your central instance will be your dialog instance

> 7. Install Java Central Service Instance. (system 04)

> 8. Install Java Central Instance and Dialog Instance.

If you install an ERP 6.0 IDES you can do that all "at once" by selecting the required usage types during installation.

I have installed IDES by default setting, this time, I just want to try install it one by one.

I've installed Central Service Instance for ABAP(ASCS) and it's running. Now, Database instance is installing. I am not sure whether there is another enqueue service after I install Central Instance for ABAP, since I have seen them in ASCS. Please advise.

As said - ASCS is only used for cluster installations, the CI installation may fail.

After ASCS installation, the CI installation is ok. Thanks so much for your advice.
