what is the difference between excise reversal and excise returns

what is the difference between excise reversal and excise returns.

if both are different explain me the process even u can explain if both process is one also.

I feel there will be a slight difference between these two.

You generate an excise document b4 sending the material. Due to some reasons, if you cancel the excise document, we can call it as excise reversal. You cannot call it as excise return.

But in case of excise returns, it should happen only when you receive rejected goods from customer. This means, excise reversal will happen in case of predespatch of material and excise return will happen in case of post despatch.

I am sure, you have not meant "Excise returns" as monthly returns :-).
