Hey Experts,
I know this is a newbie question but could you tell me the difference between Patches and Support packages?
And could you point me to a link where I can learn about how to apply them?

Support Packages generally contain collections of patches which are described and delivered within what are called 'SAP Notes.'
So, in reality there really is not difference.
