Hi Kaushal,

the main intention is to have a bi-system.

The functional part I have on a different sever.

But if in Ides i can have both it would be even better.

can I?

Hi,

No need to open the new thread.

your main purpose is training ( learning)

if you have IDES ECC 6.0 then you have two option to install.

1) Install IDES ECC 6.0 ABAP + JAVA system with usage type BI, Portal

so you can use IDES ECC 6.0 800 client as your R3 client ( Backhand for BI )

and create new client for BI by performain client copy from 000 client as use this client as BI ABAP.

for this installation you need 400 GB HDD ( IDES required more HDD) and 4 GB RAM

2) Install two different instance on same server with different SID and instance number.

Install ECC 6.0 IDES ABAP system (First instance)

Install NW04s ABAP + JAVA system with usage type BI,Portal ( Second Instance)

for this installation you need to have enough hardware resource , more RAM ( 4-6 GB) more HDD space ( 500 GB)

by now I have not so much space on the hard disc, but it is something to think about.

Now I will install the solution manager again an the BI usage type.

And the trouble begins later again with the portal integration.

But this is a different story.
