Hi Friends,
I have read some where it is possible to install NW 7.0 without the Solution Manager when you install it on a single machine, not on server.
Is it so or has any one done it?
Is it better to install on an 64 bit system?
Thanks in advance
Jimbob
Hi
SAP Recommended to use 64 bit windows OS with 700 kernel.
In order to install SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 or upgrade to SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 an SAP Solution Manager system is required. During the installation or upgrade a SAP Solution Manager Key is requested. For more information, see SAP Note 811923, 805390 or refer to the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/solutionmanager.
which product of NW 7.0 you want to use?

Thanks Kaushal,
I found out during the installation of the 64 bit OS windows 2003 it is not suitable for my machine.
Second.
I want to install the BI and actually the business suite 2005.
I have istalled the BI before but I could not install the business suite because i did not know how.
I have a dvd SAP Business suite 2005 installation master but I don't know what to choose there.
Do you know that?
Thanks Jimbob
Hi,
then you have to install it on 32 bit OS.
go for ERP2005/NW04s SR2.
now you want to install BI 7.0 for that following is required.
NW04s ABAP + JAVA system with usage type BI & Portal
if you want to use business suite ERP 2005 then
you need to install ERP2005 ECC 6.0 ABAP + JAVA system with usage type BI & Portal.
but you have to create separate client for BI.
you can not use ECC 6.0 ABAP and BI within single client.
but you must have to first install solution manager for generating installation key.

Hi,
It means I have no functional part like sales, FI etc. along with the BI on one machine?
Not like that,
when you install ECC 6.0 all modules are there,
i suggested to you go for IDES version so you have preloaded customizing and application data if it is available for you.
if you have s-user id , password then you can download the IDES version from service.sap.com

kaushal
