general error initializing codepage converter after upgrade

After upgrading our BI system to SAP NetWeaver 2004s I can`t up- or download any roles anymore using PFCG (before the upgrade this problem didn`t exist).

The subject error shows and that is that, giving myself SAP_ALL doesn`t solve the problem, there were no changes on my pc, anybody any ideas how i can overcome this very annoiing problem?

Without any further information, the only thing I can say is:

Check that you have the latest patchlevel for your SAPGUI.

Please specify the problem a little bit more.

E g

- the popup for selecting a file does not appear.

- I select a file and nothing happens.

- I get error message yy xxx.

The solution was quite easy, after I deselected the Activate Multibyte Functions to Support in the options of Customizing of local layout, the problem ceased to exist.
