In the check phase of maxdb upgrade (from 32bit 7.5.00.32 to 64 bit
7.6.01.12) the DBUPDATE.SH stops with following error message
Unfortunatly there is no /sapdb/data/wrk/MaxDBUpgrade_install-<date>-<time>.log created at
this stage):
starting preparing phase of package SAP Utilities 7.6.00.35 64 bit

did you get a resolution to this error? We have the same error, when installing the Solution Manager 4.0 on a server which currently have an old 46C system installed on it. The 46C version is not running though.

do you have a MaxDB (SAP DB) version 7.3.00 < Build 33 installed on this server?
If this is the case (and only in this case!) please delete files f:\sapdb\data\config\install\INSTREG*
Otherwise please provide the complete installation log files and the INSTREG files - probably best via mail...

is there still any MaxDB software running on this server? You should stop all MaxDB processes...
However, as this seems to be a problem during an SAP upgrade, you should open a customer message.
In this case the SAP support can logon to your system if necessary.
