Hello,
we are thinking about the architecture of our sap landscape. Currently we are using:
-
SAP WAS 6.20
- XML Interface
- BSP Applications
-
RFC
-
SAP 4.7 Ext 2
- the booking machine...
-
We will upgrade -not the backend 4.7- the WAS 620 to 640 for Intranet/Extranet. For future applications we need to use the ITS. My question is now, it is possible to activate the integrated ITS on WAS 640 and connect to the backend 4.7, like the standalone ITS 6.20.
Thanks in advance.
Frank
Hi,
As of the ITS 6.20, the ~applicationserver paramleter can be used to connect to different backend through the same ITS.
The difference with the 6.2 version, is that you manage the ITS service parameters (~ parameters) in the SICF transaction, and no more in the service files.
Regards.
Vadim

Hi Vadim,
connection specific parameter cannot be used with integrated ITS. They will be just ignored. Integrated ITS is a functionality of NetWeaver 2004 and cannot be used to connect to other systems. The only thing you can do is dialog RFC as known from SAPGUI for Windows.

Klaus
just FYI:
upps what is this... found in oss... /sap-its
less functionality in latest releases makes me sad
The integrated ITS can only connect to a system in which it is contained. In particular, this means that you have to continue to use a "standalone ITS" for all systems that are based on SAP Basis or SAP Web Application Server 6.30 or earlier.
It is not sufficient to upgrade the Web Application Server kernel to Release 6.40 to be able to use the "SAP integrated ITS".Although the integrated ITS is a subcomponent of the SAP Web Application Server kernel, it also requires database contents that are only delivered with Release 6.40 of the SAP Web Application Server.
