Hi,

you mean to say you want to add your company logo , you can upload image using tcode SMW0

follow the steps, .GIF file supported as logo

Transaction code - SMW0

check Binary data for WebRFC application

press Enter

Click Execute

Click Settings -> Maintain MIME types

Click the Create button

Fill in :- TYPE : image/gif EXTENSION : .GIF

Click Save

Click Back to the Binary data for WebRFC

Click Create

Fill in :- Obj. name : zlogo.gif

Description : Company Logo

Click Import and specify the filename where your

GIF file is located.File type is BIN. Finish press the

Transfer button.

If successful, your logo will be shown in the Binary data for WebRFC.

Now run Transaction code SM30 - Table/View - SSM_CUST

Click Maintain

Click New Entries

Name Value to be set

START_IMAGE zlogo.gif

RESIZE_IMAGE NO

Logoff and Login again

Hi,

Transport Layer: SAP is wrong.

Transport layer should be ZSID

where SID is your SAP system ID

Hi

See the problem is since its a sandbox i didnt feel the need to configure the Transport Routes (although i have configured the domain controller).

So you mean to say i have to create a virtual system and fabricate the transport layer Z<SID> which would be later assigned to the Z package (Z_IMAGE)

Am i right in saying that (please corret me if i am wrong)

And also i would appreciate if you can explain the reason behind why i cant keep SAP as a transport layer...

Hi,

If you don't want to transport this logo to other system then you can save this as local object. no need to assign package.

All SAP delivered objects are assigned to the transport layer SAP. so you can not use SAP as transport layer to transport your customizing object.

All customizing objects and any development objects that are to follow the standard transport route are assigned to other transport layers, these transport layers are typically named Z<SID>.

Hi,

As you said i should have tried saving it as a local object, and that was exactly what i was doing.

And i tried doing it several times and then it displayes as Package: $TMS

but the problem is it gives me a pop up window saying that "Test Objects cannot be created in foreign namespaces"

Now i am not able to understand what is it trying to convey with this message.

HI,

you are created object as CROMA.GIF which is worng

name should be started with z or y in customer namespace.

so create the object as zcroma.gif

Hi,

All the steps to upload an image has been successfuly implemented, but i am not able to view the picture. And the front panel of SAP turns out to be a blank.

That means the picture doesnt appear in front.

Hi,

After making changes you need to log off and login again for affect.

Two Possibilities:

1) make sure you given correct object name in SSM_CUST against START_IMAGE

i.e START_IMAGE ZCROMA.GIF ( entry is case sensitive)

2) after login into sap system form menu extras -> settings

make sure Do not display picture is not check.
