server0, server1....server....J2EE

Hello,

In our BW3.5, which is NW04 instance, has 3 application servers and each has J2EE instance on it. So it is ABAP and J2EE system. I see lot of server0 for each application server and server0 and server1 for central instance of J2EE in visual administrator.

What is is this server0 thing. Does it tied to an extra processes in SM51 in ABAP server.

And I have noticeed that CI is always having more than server0.

All I could find is that they are server processes. I could not understand anything from that. I knwo how to create them but what do they add to instance when they are created.

Are they different fron Central Services?

Another question is that does central services is like central instance in ABAP system and one can have only one per J2EE system. Correct?

I am very confused.

Can anybody please explain me that.

I will appreciate your help.

Thank you very much for all the help.

Thank you.

Hi Sume,

for I don't come from the R/3 / ABAP world, I cannot answer your questions in comparison to this.

Anyhow, for the server processes doc see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/63/6dbe3d8cb5737ae10000000a114084/frameset.htm

As you can see there, yes.

Right again. Also see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/1d/e9c43dac1bcf51e10000000a114084/frameset.htm (and around for further architectural overviews).

Hope it helps
