Backup Strategy_ Sand Box

Former Member

Hi Friends,

Since i have recently installed a Sand Box Sap Syetem (environment: ECC6.0 with Oracle on windows 2003 server)

and this system wouldnt be a part of my System landscape i.e DEVQACPRD as its meant only for Functional Consultants to get their hands dirty with some configuration and test it.

1. Now what i want to know is how can i formulate a backup strategy for this sandbox system as the "oraarch" directorty would be getting filled on the daily basis,

2. Can somebody advice me on that which would be more preferrable tape or disc backup.,,

3. Which backup is preferrable -> online or offline.

Regards

Aayush

Hi

you can get the documents from above.

but I had taken this strategy:

1. I used the scripts to take the backup. There were four scripts that used to run automatically like Mon_online, Thurs_online, Arch2 and Arch2.

2. As database is not so big I would take the online backup twice a week. Lets say Monday and Thursday in different directories.

3. Daily I would take two archive logs backup (copy_save n copy_save_delete) one after the other.

4. If you want to be on the safer side, you can use the weekly offline backup (may be on tape)
