RZ20 reporting Java Inactive

We have just upgraded a few of our BW systems from 3.1 Content to BI 7.0. In RZ20 we are seeing the message "Java Inactive". Clicking on the message I get 'No Method Assigned'. When I go into the properties I am greeted by terms I am not familair with. For example, under General Tab there is Message Class CSM_VMC, and Text of Status of VM Container.

Is this something that should have been 'activated' when we did the upgrade?

Any pointers would be appreciated,

Vince

Thanks for the quick reply. Here is some feedback.

In SMICM I see

ICM Status: Running

In SM51 the server is active.

sapbqa_BQA_23 sapbqa Dialog Batch Update Spool Enqueue ICM Active

How do I figure out what port I need to look at? Where is that param hidden?

Thanks

Vince

Update:

I tried http://sapbqa.ssmhc.com:3623/nwa which gave me nothing on my browser. 23 is the System number. But when I tried port 108 I got:

Service cannot be reached

What has happened?

URL http://sapbqa.ssmhc.com:1080/nwa call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.

Note

  • The termination occurred in system BQA with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.

  • The selected virtual host was 0 .

What can I do?

  • Please select a valid URL.

  • If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

Vincet-

Check the parameters which start with ICM & also with J2ee in your system and if they are not set in instance profile so set them up as per the port and also most of the time the used port wud be 8010 and to check this parameters in your system you can either use RZ11 to see or use the prog RSPARAM

I think I am going to have to either dig into the installation manual OR something to learn more about this. I wasn't the one tasked with the upgrade - just poking around to fix errors.

I'll post what I eventually end up doing.

Hi,

You can your system is up or not using http://ipadd:port/index.html.

Then if this page opens then you can say that java is up else not.

Try reconfiguring the java system monitoring.Just register your java system again using the visual admin.

Regards,

Vamshi.

Have you configured your CCMS monitoring if not it shows up that way and to make sure your J2EE is up and running you can always check in SM51 SMICM and with the http://<hostname>:50XXXX/index.html or from the SAP console
