Hello MI-Experts,
is there any possibility to initialize the MI-Client Logon Passwort?
I know how to reinitialize the whole client from Joe's excellent Weblog.
But is their any possibily to reset only the client password,when the user has forgotten it?

Hello Jo,hello Rahul,
thanks a lot for help.
Jo,i tried your "non-offical" solution and it works!
Joe,could you please post a thread in the MI-Forum when you create a new blog. For example the "New-Weblog thread" from the BSP-Forum:
So Forum-people can watch this thread and get an (email-)info if there is a new MI-Blog.
Regards and thanks.

Hi Jo,
Can you pls tell me on which patch of SP15 does the reset client passowrd option works. I have patch00 at it is not working for this too.
Also, is the way of resetting the password differrent with SP15 than what we have in SP14? I am asking this b'coz I currently only have SP14 Installation guide. If so, can you pls provide me with the steps for doing the same.
And, I was unable to reset the password with the unofficial way.
Regards,
Rahul
Hi Jo,
The official method is working in both SP14 & SP15. However, the parameter given in SP14 Installation guide is incorrect.
Paramter given in the installation guide is
MobileEngine.Security.ResetLocalLogonPasswordSupport=true/false.
The correct parameter is
MobileEngine.Security.ResetLocalLogonPassword=true/false.
There is no need to put 'Support' at the end.
Thanks for your help!!!
Regards,
Rahul
Hello Rahul,
Thanks for the update. I wasn't able to update you
yesterday about this as as I was out the whole day.
I was able to confirm this with the developer, and the
parameter is wrong in the docs as what you described.
I will give feedback to the information developer to
make proper corrections on the documents.
Regards
Jo
Hi Frank,
In order to allow the user to reset his password follow this procedure:
1. Open the file MobileEngine.config in the directory <SAP MI installation directory>\settings in an editor.
2. Add the following parameters:
MobileEngine.Security.ResetLocalLogonPasswordSupport=true.
3. Save your entries.
Result
The user logon screen contains the pushbutton Reset Password. If the user has forgotten his or her logon password, he or she can log on to the server using the synchronization password and enter a new logon password without having to specify the old one.
If this does not work for you, the client must be completely reinstalled.

Rahul
