Hi

The OS : Windows Server 2003 / MS SQL Server 2005 / SAP ERP 6.0 SR3.

Recently we have performed ERP upgrade from 4.7 and then subsequently did a DB Upgrade from 2000 to 2005.

Finally when we check the windows even log, we find the following error for the SAP System.

[FreeOsshm] umap shared memory failed.

ERROR_INVALID_ADDRESS
Attemp to access invalid address.

Please let me know if you know about this error.

Thanks & Best Regards,

L Raghunahth

What process/task/executable is affected? Is your system running? What kernel patch are you using?

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your reply.

Kernel 700 Patch 146

Disp+Work -- 160

No Process is affected. The SAP System is working fine.

I think that problem was a temporary one.

The system tried to free a memory area which was already free´ed before. If you see only one occurrence I would ignore it. If it comes more often I´d open an OSS call for this.

Hi Markus,

Thanks again.

Actually every time if we restart the SAP System, this error is thrown in the Windows Event Log.

please let me know how should we deal with this.

Thanks & Best Regards

Since there´s no contact available which process has that problem it´s impossible to suggest something.

I would open an OSS call under BC-OP-NT and let the support people have a look on the system.

Hi Markus,

Thanks a lot every time.

Actually I updated the latest kernel patch also. Still I am getting the error. and could not trace.

Hence as suggested by you, I shall create an OSS Message for the same.

I shall post back once it is solved.

Thanks again.

The system may leak memory - check, if you stop and start the system several times, if you see that the used memory in the task manager is increasing.

I´m sure the Microsoft Competence Center @ SAP can throw a light on it
