what is the exact relevance of TEXT in item category determination

good afternoon to all,

i jus wanted to know what is the exact relevance of TEXT in item category determination.

according to me its for - information purpose whether u are using packing material or for some other

purposes.

is there any relevance apart from this ?

Dear Balaji,

When you create sales order for TEXT item at that the itemcategory TXT will be determine based on the Sales(OR) document type + Higher level itemcategory(TAN).

For Example:- When You need to send some product related brouchers or prodicut manuals or product catelogs along with the product the TEXT itemcategory will be used.

Because it will not have price.
